Yamaha Selects 2022 Young Performing Artists Winners
For the last 33 years, the Yamaha Corporation of America has recognized outstanding young musicians by giving them national publicity to help them pursue their professional careers. Over 300 musicians have been selected through this program with many achieving successful professional careers.
Among this year’s winners included the following brass players:
- Jacob Batchelder – Trumpet, Central Washington University
- Kevin Flanagan – Tuba, University of Miami, Frost School of Music
Also receiving honorable mention were the following:
- Amy Boedigheimer – Trumpet, Central Washington University
- Jaehan Kim – Trombone, New England Conservatory of Music
- Spencer Banister – Trombone, Oklahoma Christian University
