Roy Hargrove Documentary To Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival
On June 12th in New York City, the Tribeca Film Festival will be premiering Hargrove, a documentary on the great trumpeter Roy Hargrove during his final tour. Hargrove died on November 2, 2018, from cardiac arrest after complications with his kidneys.
For the documentary, footage was taken from Hargrove’s shows and performances in New York City, Los Angeles, and Europe. Interviews with Hargrove are featured plus the following list of musicians:
- Sonny Rollins
- Herbie Hancock
- Wynton Marsalis
- Questlove
- Christian McBride
- Robert Glasper
- Erykah Badu
- Ralph Moore
- Willie Jones III
- and others
Directed and produced by Eliane Henri, Hargrove showcases the final times of a monumental musician and the legacy that still lives with us today.
